What a wonderful re-entry onto the international stage! Congratulations to the NSW aerobics gymnasts who competed overseas for the first time in years!
Two Australian teams, each with NSW members, performed at the Cantanhede FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup in Portugal over the weekend.
Deborah Greenbaum, from PLC in Sydney, was part of the first Aussie trio who took to the floor on Saturday and finished in 7th place with a score of 19.014 – qualifying them for the finals on Sunday.
The team, which includes Olivia Feaver and Annabel Muttdon (Gymnastics Victoria), then went on to claim 5th place with an awesome score of 19.535. It was the team’s first time competing together internationally!

Australia’s second trio – Carissa Uno (All Starz Gymnastics and Dance), Grace Kleppich and Mercedes McIntyre (PLC Sydney) – also did an incredible job and finished 10th on Saturday with a score of 18.279.
The teams debuted their routines against the new Code of Points, with the second trio describing the routine as a breakaway from their previously dramatic style of performance.
Ms Uno told the Academia CantanhedeGym they had a blast doing a “sassy jungle theme” and stepped out of their comfort zone to try something new.
The 21-year-old told Gymnastics NSW she was proud to give it her all and represent Australia on the world stage.
“I am feeling so excited, it was such an honour,” she said. “I am excited for what the future holds for Australia in the upcoming season after such success at this competition.”
Congratulations to our talented and dedicated athletes – we are so proud!
