A trio of Australians have performed incredibly in the Finals of the 51st FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Liverpool, England.
Women’s Artistic duo Georgia Godwin and Romi Brown were the first to take to the floor, with the pair competing in the Women’s All-Around Final. Across the four apparatus, the competition was fierce, but the Aussies were up to the task. It was on the Uneven Bars where the Aussies shone, with scores of 13.500 and 13.466 respectively the 7th and 8th highest scores of the evening.
Overall, Georgia Godwin was able to reaffirm herself as one of the finest gymnasts to come out of Australia, finishing in 12th place with a score of 52.699, whilst finals debutant Romi Brown gave the world a taste of what to expect in the future, scoring 49.265 in what will no doubt be the first of many World Championship Finals appearances,
Despite an injury scare prior to the competition, Tyson Bull was able to put that behind him and compete in the Horizontal Bar final. A score of 13.766 wasn’t enough to secure a place on the medal dais, but still affirmed Tyson’s standing as one of the worlds best on that apparatus.
We congratulate all three of these gymnasts on their incredible efforts at the World Championships.
